About the metal and engineering training package
This Training Package (national identifier code MEM05) links the National Metal and Engineering Competency Standards to qualifications, covering Certificate I through to Advanced Diploma.

The Metal and Engineering Training Package replaces all previous national industry-supported courses. The package was endorsed by the National Training Framework Committee on 10th November 1998.

Coverage
The Training Package covers the skills and knowledge development and recognition requirements of people who use the workplace competencies covered by the National Metal and Engineering Competency Standards.

The Metal and Engineering Training Package is designed to be flexible and can be linked to all types of employment arrangements including Australian Workplace Agreements, Certified Agreements as well as Federal and State Awards. It also complements the employment framework formally agreed to by all industrial parties.
