What MSA is doing

The Hon Karen Andrews MP, Assistant Minister for Vocational Education and Skills announced on 11th November 2016 that the Skills Service Organisation for the manufacturing sector will be Innovation and Business Skills Australia (IBSA). The MSA Board of Directors agreed that national operations would conclude at the end of the ‘transition agreement’ with the Commonwealth, 28th February 2017. The future of the company is to be determined in 2017.

Training Package resources

MSA Training Package resources can now be obtained freely on the VETNet website. This includes teaching and learning resources, assessment resources, helpful websites for foundation skills and manufacturing.

Current consultations

Prior to closure of MSA’s national operations in February 2017, and on behalf of Innovation and Business Services Australia for the Manufacturing and Engineering Industry Reference Committee, MSA has agreed to finalise the review of the MEM05 trade and production qualifications for endorsement in Release 2 of MEM Manufacturing and Engineering Training Package. Consultation drafts of the MEM trade and production qualifications and the relevant units of competency are now available for final stakeholder review of technical content.
