NSW ITAB

The NSW industry training advisory body (ITAB) role for metal and engineering, process manufacturing and textiles, clothing and footwear now resides with Manufacturing Skills Australia. The ITAB role is to provide advice about industry training needs and related issues to the NSW Department of Education and Training (DET).

Consultation and advice
We consult widely with enterprises, industry associations, unions, Registered Training Organisations and other stakeholders. We seek input on workforce skills issues including:

industry's current and future training and skills requirements

the quality and relevance of the national Training Packages

the need for training resources

the ease of access to high quality, customised training

issues facing Registered Training Organisations in delivering training and skills programs to meet industry needs

Qualifications coverage
The NSW ITAB covers qualifications, training pathways and other NSW training issues in the following process manufacturing industry sectors:

Plastics, rubber and cablemaking

Chemical, hydrocarbons and refining

Manufactured mineral products

Laboratory operations

As well as the following metal and engineering sectors:

Metal, engineering and boating

Aerospace

And now the:

• Textiles, clothing and footwear sector
