Manufacturing Training Package
The Manufacturing Training Package (MSA07) has been developed as a cross-manufacturing package to cover areas such as Competitive Manufacturing, generic Process Manufacturing qualifications, Pathways qualifications and Manufacturing Technology. It includes qualifications, units of competency and Skill Sets that are relevant to many different industry sectors.

Latest version - MSA07v5 includes:
  • New MSA30309 Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application
  • New units of competency and Skill Sets for Trade Measurement Inspectors and Verifiers
Version 5 is now available live on the NTIS. The package will be available shortly from MSA on CD ROM in PDF and Word format, via our online shop.

MSA07 – historical information

MSA07v4
MSA07v4 includes two new qualifications:
  • MSA71109 Vocational Graduate Certificate in Competitive Manufacturing
  • MSA81109 Vocational Graduate Diploma of Competitive Manufacturing

MSA07v3.1
An additional specialist stream for structural steel detailing has been added to the Manufacturing Technology qualifications in MSA07. The new stream was endorsed in MSA07v3.1 on 3 December 2008.

MSA07v3
As part of the rationalisation of the manufacturing Training Packages, the Competitive Manufacturing qualifications and the Manufacturing Technology qualifications were relocated to MSA07. Click here for information on the Competitive Manufacturing qualifications
At the same time, new industry specialisations were added to the Manufacturing Technology qualifications: metallurgy and polymer technology streams for Certificates III and IV. In addition, two new Manufacturing Technology qualifications at Diploma and Advanced Diploma were included.

MSA07v2
MSA07 version 2 was endorsed in November 2007. This version included the generic process manufacturing production support certificates (previously endorsed in the Plastics, Rubber and Cablemaking Training Package):
Certificate I in Process Manufacturing
Certificate II in Process Manufacturing
Certificate III in Process Manufacturing

MSA07v1
Version 1 of MSA07 contained the Certificate I in Manufacturing (Pathways). This long-awaited qualification is designed to develop both skills that are essential for employment and skills that relate directly to a work activity. It provides a pathway into work or further education and training and is aimed at people looking to enter or re-enter the workforce.
